What was your first job? Paper girl when I was 12
What is your role within the SRG Group and how long have you worked for the company? Men’s Knitwear designer, 3 and a half years.
Who’s influenced your career most (and why)? My Nana, she was so stylish. I used to look at her in awe, she inspired my creativity & love for beautiful things, she’s definitely the overall reason I became a designer.
What’s the best piece of advice you could give someone? Go with your instinct & most importantly don’t listen to my advice!
What’s the most enjoyable part of your job? Seeing my drawings come to life.
What’s on your desk? Lots of brightly coloured tat, from feathers to flamingos!
What’s your favourite holiday destination? Italy.
What car do you drive? I don’t own a car as I don’t drive… so it’s the train & tram for me.
What are you passionate about? Lots of stuff, I’d be here all day if I was to list it all..!
Who’s your business or personal hero/heroine? Mary Portas
What would be your perfect day away from work? Out in the hills with my boyfriend, William, on our bikes.
What’s your greatest personal achievement? Buying my first home 7 months ago.
What’s your favourite gadget? I’ll go with phone, I’m not one for gadgets.
What’s your favourite quote or motto? “Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons”.
What would you choose as your last meal? My Mum’s Sunday roast, complete with her huge homemade Yorkshire puddings.
What’s your favourite pastime/relaxation activity? Cycling & gardening.
What’s your favourite music/musician? I quite like jazz, but I do have a mixed taste & I don’t think I could choose between Bowie & the Rolling Stones.
What’s the thing you hate the most? Injustice.
What did you want to be as a child? A designer, but I did go through a small phase of saying I wanted to create perfumes.
What can’t you live without? A good cup of tea.
Name one person you’d like to have dinner with (and why)? Hmmm, this is a tough one, one of the David’s… David Bowie or David Attenborough, because they have both had fascinating lives in completely different ways, but each one would have fantastic stories to tell.
What’s in your briefcase/handbag? My world and quite a few receipts!
If you weren’t in your current role, what would you be doing? Definitely an interior designer.

All the staff at SRG Apparel gave generously to Save The Children this month, participating in the Christmas Jumper Day and cake sale on Friday 16th December! Well done team SRG!
Our office in Bangladesh are helping out with the plight of the Santal indigenous people, evicted from their homes in early November.
More than 1200 families, are still living under the open sky in the premises of local churches.
Appropriate clothing has been supplied by our local Bangladesh staff to help keep these unfortunate people warm during the night.

Who’s influenced your career most (and why)? Lynne Philp. She was the Office Manager at Industrial Motivation Limited and focused on developing her staff through positive motivation, she is now a very successful Leadership Coach.
What’s the best piece of advice you could give someone? Think of the long game, try to predict the pitfalls before they arise and have a plan to avoid them.
What’s the most enjoyable part of your job? I love a good spreadsheet!
